When can I register for CLFA2027?

How much will my registration cost and what is included?
Registration fees and full inclusions will be announced before registration opens. We are working to keep participation as affordable and accessible as possible.
Registration will be required for the full Assembly, which includes the Opening Plenary and sponsored education on the morning of Thursday, May 13, and participation in the two-day Open Space Forum on May 14–15. Additional details about registration inclusions, meals and other programming will be confirmed before registration opens.
What parts of Lymphedema LEAD Day are open to the public?
Lymphedema LEAD Day is the opening day of CLFA2027 and includes activities for registered Assembly participants. As part of Lymphedema LEAD Day, the Lymphedema Learning & Resource Hub will also be open to the public from 12-6 p.m. as a free, drop-in experience—no registration is required to visit the Hub.
Participation in the other Lymphedema LEAD Day activities requires registration for the full three-day Assembly.
Can I bring my spouse, partner, or parent?
Absolutely! We believe that lived experience is a valuable form of expertise. Family members, partners, caregivers and other supporters are an important part of the lymphedema community and are warmly welcomed to join us.
Anyone wishing to participate in the Opening Plenary and Open Space Forum must register separately at the standard registration rate.
If your guest only wishes to visit the Lymphedema Learning & Resource Hub during LEAD Day on Thursday, May 13 (12–6 p.m.), no registration is required. This public portion of the event is free and open to everyone.
When can I book a room in Dalhousie University residence?
Reservations for on-campus accommodations at Dalhousie University will open on January 15, 2027. A large block of residence rooms has been reserved for CLFA2027 participants, offering a convenient and affordable option within a very short walking distance of all Assembly activities.

Will there be a virtual or hybrid option?
No. CLFA2027 is designed as a fully in-person experience. The Open Space Forum, LEAD Day and many of the Assembly’s networking and collaborative activities are intended to bring people together face-to-face in ways that are difficult to replicate online.
While we recognize that not everyone will be able to attend in person, the Assembly has been intentionally designed around the value of bringing Canada’s lymphedema community together in one place for three days of shared learning, connection and collaboration.
Is the Assembly about lymphedema exclusively, or will other, related conditions also be discussed?
CLFA2027 is centred on lymphedema. While discussions may draw on related health conditions, disciplines or experiences where they help advance understanding, care or support for people living with lymphedema, the Assembly’s primary focus will remain on improving lymphedema care in Canada.
How is the Forum agenda created?
The agenda isn’t set months in advance—it is created collaboratively by the people in the room. At the start of the Forum, participants propose discussion topics and priorities, which are organized into breakout sessions with the guidance of our professional facilitator. You then decide which conversations to join, contributing where your experience and interests can have the greatest impact.
Will there be speakers?
Lymphedema LEAD Day will include an Opening Plenary and sponsored learning for registered participants. The Open Space Forum does not use a pre-set session agenda and will not have scheduled speakers.
Can people from outside Canada participate?
Yes. International participants are welcome. We value the perspectives and expertise they bring. While discussions and outcomes will focus on advancing lymphedema care in Canada, many of the ideas, innovations and experiences shared will have broad relevance and benefit from international perspectives. Participants are responsible for their own registration, travel and any applicable entry requirements.
